Young People needed for Diocesan Day

Are you a young person who would like to gain experience of leadership and public speaking? For our fantastic Diocesan Day on 6th July, we are inviting young people to come forward to be part of our leadership team. We need stewards, workshop assistants, people to introduce our speakers and young people be the welcoming face of the event! You’ll be in teams during the day so you can share in your tasks. As a big thank you, young people will be able to take part in our Climbing Wall and Archery activities, receive a certificate of participation, a free T-shirt and an Ice cream! This can count towards your Faith in Action and DofE projects!

If you are aged 14+, please email youth@cliftondiocese.com to register, and come along to our training day on Saturday 15th June 10am – 3pm at St Brendan’s College, Broomhill Rd, Bristol. BS4 5RQ.

Faith in Action trial

Faith in Action is a national Catholic award for young people. The Clifton Diocese is currently piloting the scheme with young people in different parishes across the diocese. The aim of the trial is to explore how the awards could run in every parish, acknowledging and encouraging the service and presence of young people. The awards enable young people to reflect on their role in the Church, deepen their understanding of scripture & Catholic Social Teaching, and grow in their faith. For more information and to take part in the pilot email youth@cliftondiocese.com or visit www.cliftondiocese.com and search for Faith in Action.

Pope Francis has responded to new reports of clerical sexual abuse and the ecclesial cover-up of abuse. In an impassioned letter addressed to the whole People of God, he calls on the Church to be close to victims in solidarity, and to join in acts of prayer and fasting in penance for such “atrocities”.
